Outdoor Experience: Learn Italian in Milan, Explore the Mountains of Italy

Starting in 2026, Il Centro – Italian Language and Culture School introduces a brand-new educational project: combining Italian language classes in Milan with guided mountain excursions led by a certified outdoor professional. Lessons in the classroom blend with immersive days in nature, where you can practice Italian in real-life situations while hiking, sharing meals in mountain huts, and discovering the landscapes of Northern Italy.

In collaboration with the mountain guide Paolo Callegaro, our students can join day hikes, multi-day treks, snowshoe tours, and thematic outdoor experiences. Each activity is designed to help you learn new vocabulary naturally while living an unforgettable adventure.

The program is suitable for various fitness levels and Italian proficiency. Whether you prefer panoramic paths or more challenging routes, the goal is the same: discover Italy, speak Italian, and enjoy the outdoors safely.

Meet Your Guide Paolo Callegaro

Paolo Callegaro has been passionate about the mountains since he was young. He practices mountaineering, climbing, ski mountaineering, ice climbing, trekking, and many other outdoor sports. Since 2020, he has been a certified professional, registered with the College of Mountain Guides of Lombardy, working as an Accompagnatore di Media Montagna and International Mountain Leader (UIMLA).

Through his project Outdoor Experience, Paolo leads hikes, treks, travel-adventure routes, school programs, youth summer camps, e-bike tours, yoga treks, and winter snowshoeing experiences. His mission is to accompany people safely while helping them discover landscapes rich in nature, culture, and history.

More than a guide, Paolo is an environmental interpreter: he teaches you how to “read” the mountains, understand their ecosystems, and move through natural environments responsibly and consciously.
