The youngest student at our Italian language school is called Ichika. She was born on August 10 and has already found a special place in all our hearts. Yesterday, she came to visit us with her mother, Yuhina, a Japanese student of ours whom we are especially fond of.
Some visits make a day truly special and remind us that a school can become much more than a place to learn a language. Il Centro is an Italian language school in Milan, but above all, it is a large international family where friendships and lasting bonds are formed.

A Little Student Who Already Knew Il Centro
In fact, Ichika already knew our school before she was born. In June, Yuhina continued attending her lessons while she was expecting her baby.
Ichika was therefore already listening to Italian from inside her mother’s tummy. We can say, with a smile, that her first Italian course began even before she was born!
A Heartwarming Return to Our Italian Language School
Seeing Yuhina again and finally meeting Ichika was a joyful and emotional moment. Our tiniest visitor was warmly welcomed by the teachers, staff and students at the school, immediately winning everyone over.

Yuhina made her visit even more special by bringing us some beautiful gifts: an elegant birth announcement, a card addressed “to all the members of Il Centro” and several chocolates personalised with Ichika’s photograph and the words “I’m Ichika”.
It was a thoughtful and affectionate gesture that deeply touched us and showed how the bond with our students often continues long after their courses have ended.

A School Made Above All of People
For us, Il Centro is not simply a school where people study Italian in Italy! It is a place where students from different countries and cultures meet, share important experiences and build genuine relationships.
Many students return to visit us whenever they come back to Milan. They write to us from their home countries and continue to share the most important moments of their lives with us. Some, like Yuhina, return with their children and allow us to welcome a new and very young generation into our international family.
This is one of the most beautiful and distinctive aspects of our school: the relationship created during the lessons does not end on the final day of the course but continues over time, even across thousands of kilometres.
A Special Meeting Between Italy and Japan
Yuhina and Ichika’s visit brought a beautiful meeting between Italian and Japanese culture into our school. The colours of their traditional clothing, the care with which the gifts were prepared and the tenderness of baby Ichika made this a truly unforgettable day.
Thank you, Yuhina, for coming back to visit us and for sharing such a joyful moment with us.
And welcome, little Ichika: the youngest student at our Italian language school. Your place at Il Centro was already waiting for you!
We wish you a life filled with love, new friendships, exciting journeys and many languages to discover.
